Pep Guardiola has said Manchester City will not be able to spend £300million on signings every season as he revealed his intention to recruit only "one or two" new players this summer.

The Citizens finished top of the English top flight this season in record-breaking fashion, racking up exactly 100 points across their 38 fixtures.

United were, after all, the only side to beat City at the Ethiad this term, demonstrating a sense of fight and grit which belied the inferiority complex they displayed towards them too often throughout the campaign.

The greatest team in Premier League history is one that will be remembered for decades to come for doing some remarkable things and leaving a legacy.

The Premier League Manager of the Season and LMA Manager of the Year awards have been handed out, with some stiff competition for the gongs.

As football fans, we rarely get to have such an opportunity to "get behind the curtain" and see the inner workings of any league club, let alone the champions of England. They had an awesome season.

Pep Guardiola has expressed admiration for the way Jose Mourinho sets up his teams, noting the way his players "are always like soldiers".

"Normally after winning you say 'now I don't run"; this is the moment you are not going to win.

Not for the first time this season Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock lost out to Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santos who won the Championship's accolade. Of course, always I think the records are a outcome of our game, our consistency.

'I am at a fantastic club - it is a family. I want to say thank you to the Premier League for giving me the opportunity to be here, to share with my family, living here in England. The last 10 years nobody has won back-to-back so that is the challenge'.
