One of the most respected National Basketball Association agents lost his life on Sunday morning in a auto crash.
The 56-year-old was driving an SUV when he was hit by a bus on a highway near Aspen, according to the report. Fegan's two passengers, an unidentified 29-year-old woman and Fegan's 5-year-old daughter, were airlifted with serious injuries and their current conditions are unknown.
"The vehicles collided around 9:22 a.m.as the SUV attempted to merge on the highway from Smith Way road at about mile marker 34, according to Blankenship".
In 2016, Fegan was ranked 23rd in Forbes' list of Sports Agents. "It created a hard situation, but Fegan was determined to do what he thought was best for his client", Jeff Zillgitt wrote.
USA Today noted Fegan had an "aggressive" style of negotiating on behalf of his clients, who included at one time or another John Wall of the Washington Wizards, Dwight Howard of the Charlotte Hornets and the New Orleans Pelicans' DeMarcus Cousins. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this hard time'. While of course the nice words won't bring him Fegan back, it's great that the National Basketball Association was fortunate enough to have Fegan contribute over the years.
Fegan lost many of his high-profile clients following a messy breakup with his former employer, Independent Sports & Entertainment, resulting in both parties filing lawsuits against the other. I am forever grateful for what you did for me and will never forget that.
