Forecasts show Hurricane Irma could slam Florida this weekend, and as South Floridians brace for a potentially devastating storm, it's possible that multiple Trump Organization properties could be in its path. Mar-a-Lago could be seen with windows visibly shuttered and boarded up, according to a tweet from WPBF reporter Whitney Burbank.
The safety and security of [Mar-A-Lago] guests, members and colleagues is our top priority, and we are closely monitoring Hurricane Irma.
"Our teams at our four properties in Florida are taking all of the proper precautions and are following local and Florida State Advisories very closely to help ensure that everyone is kept safe and secure", said the spokesperson.
Donald Trump Jr. got married there two weeks after Hurricane Wilma, which seems like an event unlikely to have taken place had Mar-a-Lago been the cracked, water-stained mess Trump seems to have claimed.
Damage to the president's property may already have been done though.
Mar-A-Lago is located in an area that has been placed under storm surge warning.
All three of Trump's golf clubs have been closed, according to NBC's Hallie Jackson.
Trump has three private properties in Florida, including the Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach, Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter and Mar-a-Lago, the private club he calls the "Winter White House".
Rick Scott says the state is doing all it can to relieve fuel shortages and traffic jams to keep people evacuating ahead of Hurricane Irma.
"We know that the four most solid buildings on the island have been destroyed, which means that more rustic structures have probably been completely or partially destroyed", French Interior Minister Gerard Collomba told AFP.
Trump National Doral in Miami remains open, but the spokesperson urged guests with reservations to make alternative lodging arrangements outside of the storm zone.
