Columbus police say there were no injuries reported.

USA police arrested one person and confiscated a gun Friday morning while responding to a report of an active shooter at an OH high school, confirming there were no injuries.

"Thank you to Columbus Police and all officers on the scene for your swift work this morning and always", tweeted Sen.

School officials said that all students are safe following Friday's ordeal.

"One of the staff members did make contact with the armed suspect and was able to talk with that suspect and get him to calm down", said Chief Jones.

Columbus City Schools said that classes have been canceled for the day, and that students have been transported to Linmoor Education Center on Hamilton Ave.

Counselors will be there Monday for teachers and staff and on Tuesday for students. They check our pockets.

A message was left for a Columbus schools representative.
