Airtel's new Rs. 349 plan offers 28 GB data, unlimited calls to counter Jio

Here's a quick look at all the new Airtel plans. Airtel has plans of Rs 8, Rs 15, Rs 40, Rs 349 and Rs 399, which offer a variety of data and voice calling options.

Jio launched its services on September 5, 2016 with its "Welcome offer" that gave users access to unlimited LTE data and national voice, video and messaging services along with the full bouquet of Jio applications and content, free of cost up to 31 December, 2016. Reliance Jio has also offered the best service; that is users can book the phone by paying Rs 500 at its booking and Rs 1000 will be paid at the delivery time. Rs 60 plan is offering talk time of Rs 58 plus unlimited validity, the Rs 90 is offering talk time of Rs 88 and unlimited validity.

Rs 349 plan: Airtel is offering unlimited local and STD calls plus 28 GB data (1GB/day) for 28 days under this plan. The company offers unlimited plans in the same price range of Rs 1,200.

Rs 349 plan offer: 10% cashback on recharge of Rs 349 by opening Airtel Payments Bank account.

With recharge of Rs 198, Airtel users will get unlimited local and STD calls and 1GB of data for 28 days. Airtel users can get unlimited calls, along with 1GB per data per day for 28 days, which means 28 GB data for 28 days.

Under the new plans, customers can recharge for various denominations that allow them to get 1 GB, 2 GB, 2.5 GB, 3.5 GB, 4 GB or 5 GB per day by recharging for the right amount.

Airtel also launched a new offer to all smartphone users. Check out the details of the new plans below. According to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) data, Jio has been recorded as the fastest 4G data speed provider in India in the month of July. Post the exhaustion of 20GB in 56 days, the internet speed is reduced to 128kbps.

Only 1% of Indians spent more than Rs 800 on monthly tariff plans.

Voice calls that used to attract 71% of telcos revenues have now lost the plot to the up and coming data services. Thanks to the entry of Jio, India has become the largest hub for data consumption on Google, Youtube, Facebook, WhatsApp and other social media sites. These plans aggressively compete with Jio's Rs. 149, Rs. 349 and Rs. 399 plans. The Low-end manufacturers are certain to feel the Jio heat and it may not be limited to the low end device manufacturers but also companies selling smartphones under Rs. 5000.

Extending the validity from 360 days to 390 days, this plan now offers 780GB data as opposed to 750GB data keeping the per day data to average about 2GB.
